Former students from local colleges, as early as the 1940's, may remember this site as the place where they took bowling classes. Things have radically changed since the owner of Grand Central Station took over the space. Instead of garish bowling shirts and clanging pins, there is 25,000 well-designed square feet of peaceful shopping experiences awaiting each visitor. The store is full of beautiful vignettes from over 50 vendors, displaying a wide variety of items ranging from primitive, vintage and retro items to classic antiques. The variety includes repurposed and upstyled vintage pieces and continental classics, something to enhance every style of decor. There are Western and equestrian collections as well as vintage children's toys and clothing, quite literally something for everyone. Stop by this wonderful shop and plan to enjoy your wanderings through its wide, well-lit aisles. Decorative paint, finishes and wax are available here and there are classes to be joined. You may even run into present day students as they do research or search out a special item for use in class.....maybe even something retro, from the 40's. Please let the staff know that you found this shop on AntiqueTrail.com or TXAntiqueTrail.com. |
